21st century digital learning platformsWe will continue to develop our work in Language and Reading Culture, Culture and Life, and the 21st-Century Education Ecosystem, making it available to all education stakeholders.
Our aim is to develop the language and reading culture of students aged 5–18 through reading and learning platforms; help them explore written culture through stories; and support them in becoming lifelong learners using 21st-century tools.
We had doubled the number of books on the Reading Platform and completed its learning materials and process designs. This year, we also integrated artificial intelligence and prepared the platform for use in the new school year.
By June 2026, we had completed the translation of 100 classic works for middle and high school students, the development of the platform software, and the processes and practices for using it in schools and classrooms. Our goals for the 2026–2027 school year are:
Our aim is to use culturally focused learning platforms to help students: (a) develop their historical understanding and aesthetic awareness through the Virtual Field Trip Platform (SAGEP); (b) cultivate reading and analytical skills, including literary analysis, through the Literature Platform; and (c) understand the Tanzimat period in the context of 19th-century history and Westernization, and recognize the connections between works produced in that period and broader historical developments through the Tanzimat Platform.
In 2024–2025, we completed the infrastructure work for these websites and updated their software. We will continue publishing these platforms as reference resources for students and teachers.
As a goal for our fourth strategic period, we aim to complete the Virtual Tour Platform and make it available to students and teachers in September 2027.
Through School Transformation Consultancy and European Union projects, we aim to: (a) strengthen the Foundation’s knowledge and partnership ecosystem; (b) raise the Foundation’s profile through international cooperation and joint initiatives; and (c) facilitate schools’ transition to a 21st-century learning ecosystem and technology use, providing guidance during implementation.
We are completing the EU project launched in 2023 in October 2026. Within the framework of the European Green Deal (EGD), FuCIN promotes active citizenship through collaboration between students and local policymakers, with the shared aim of developing and communicating sustainable, green local policies. As emerging technologies become increasingly embedded in students’ lives, it is essential to encourage and strengthen social engagement strategies, use issues that matter to students as a catalyst, and promote forms of communication that feel natural and appropriate to them.
Following the School Performance Evaluation conducted at TED Bodrum College Middle School in February 2025, our work continues from preschool through the end of high school. It encompasses improving the effectiveness and measurability of learning processes, integrating technology into learning, and putting accountability, continuity, and sustainability into practice in school management and everyday learning experiences.
Technology—and especially new developments and applications in information technology that transform learning experiences—is advancing rapidly, with new tools continuously entering the education ecosystem. It is becoming increasingly difficult for schools and public education authorities to keep pace with these developments. Enabling individuals, institutions, users, service providers, and public authorities to acquire knowledge and increase their awareness of these new applications, tools, and processes is essential to their appropriate and effective use.
Through seminars, symposia, workshops, and presentations, Vakıf k12 aims to explore and share what these innovations mean, how they affect education and learning, their advantages and disadvantages, and how they can be translated into practice most effectively.
In November 2026, we plan to organize a symposium and workshop in collaboration with TED Bodrum College under the theme “Learning in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.” The event will examine the impact of AI on education and learning, support teachers in using these technologies in pedagogically meaningful, ethical, and responsible ways, and offer practical tools and solutions that can be applied in the classroom.
The program aims to:
The symposium and workshop are intended to create a space for exchange and professional development that treats AI not merely as a technological innovation, but as a pedagogical tool for improving learning processes, connecting theoretical discussions with classroom practice.
Supporting others, creating opportunities for people with limited resources, and providing financial assistance to individuals, institutions, and students working in specific fields can make an important contribution to achieving our intended outcomes.
In spring 2026, we donated more than 50,000 books from the Vakıf k12 OKA series to the District Directorate of National Education in Bağlar, Diyarbakır. By participating in distribution at schools and in classrooms, we observed the impact of this initiative firsthand. Under the Foundation’s fourth strategic plan, we will continue book donation campaigns when there is demand.
New Book Donation Projects
Spending long hours in front of screens and using social media can harm the healthy development of students in grades 4–12. Poor nutrition and excessive weight gain, together with declining social interaction and communication, negatively affect their well-being and social development. To introduce students to sports, expand opportunities for active living, and help them acquire new activities and habits, Vakıf k12 launched the Love of the Sea and Licensed Athlete Program. We will continue supporting this program, whose pilot phase was completed in spring and summer 2026 and whose official approvals were obtained for the 2027–2028 academic year.
